Alien spoted in Boston

Sam Cassell has reached the agreement with Boston Celtics and will join the Celts after buying out his contract from Clippers which should happen...today.

So in other words, signing a 38 yo playmaker is like saying "now or never" and it's kind of that way. Pierce, Allen, Garnett, Cassell. Any questions about this years champions?

Chandler has spoken

I highly recommend all of you taking a look on what Tyson Chandler wrote about Bobby Jackson's trade.

It's a piece of literature that brings us truth and honesty from a real friend that Chandler is to Bobby.

He describes this and all the other trades from player's point of view.

Read it here!

Don't get too excited...

Ben Wallace and Joe Smith go to Cleveland for Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons.
Ok. First of all that trade sucks big for Cavs. Seriously. Ben Wallace? LeBron must be overjoied...
One question. WHY? Larry has improved MUCH lately and Drew was always good. How about Ben now? You don't wanna know my opinion, believe me. Joe Smith from the other hand is decent but a bit old (that's his 13th season).

That's not all. Cavs got also Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West from Sonics for Donyell Marshall and Ira Newble.
Well, obviously that move is more clear to me than that first one.

Gerald Green goes to Houston for Kirk Snyder. It's ok. C class player for another C class player seems fair enough.

In another trade Raptors gave Juan Dixon to Detroit for Priomoz Brezec.

Still, can't believe that's it...

Today is the day

Deadline comes to an end later that day.

As expected some trade movement is happening.

Spurs just signed Kurt Thomas from Clippers for Francisco Elson, Brent Barry and a 2009 first-round pick instead of getting Ron Artest.

Hornets will sign Bonzi Wells and Mike James from Houston for Bobby Jackson. They really want to get the title.

Today everything may happen. Don't forget Cavs are desperate to sign someone. Maybe Andre Miller or Mike Miller?

We'll see.

Stay tuned!

What a night!

- CP3 spoiled Kidd's debut in Mavs. Got 31 points (17 in the 3rd, scored all 7 for 7) and almost got a tripple double stealing 9 balls! (7 in the first half). That would have been 1st tripple double of that kind since 1998 when Mookie Blaylock got one. On Kidd's defence he made his first assist in the first 10 seconds of the game.
Besides I have to second to what Craig Kwasniewski wrote:
"The NBA... where overrated trades happen..."

- Bryant and Gasol company caused a total eclipse of the Sun in Shaq's debut in Phoenix. They both scored 70.

- Lebron went for his 2nd consecutive tripple double! This guy is crazy!

- Celtics lost their second game after the All-Star Weekend break. Something bad happened because even with Garnett who's back again they can't win.

- Knicks got beaten by 40 in Philly. By 40! In other words one night they can win in OT regardless of what is happening on the bench (Randolph throwing a cap of water on Robinson) and the other night they just don't exist. Bravo mr. Thomas. You should consider that Indiana University offer as soon as possible to save the franchise.

- Stoudamire, Bosh, Howard, Billups, Calderon, Nowitzki, Granger, Redd and Artest also made outstanding performances and are worth being mentioned but they (at least some of them) always so so it's nothing unusual. Oh wait. Did I say ARTEST? Well yeah. Once in a year even a priest has a kickstand.

East finally shopping?

Apocalypse is coming, that's for sure.

Rumors say there's gonna be a three-way trade that would include Vince Carter going to New York Knicks, Eddy Curry to Miami and the expiring contracts of Jason Williams and Ricky Davis to New Jersey.

Finally something's gonna happen on the East.

2/19/2008

When the transfer deadline comes closer...

- First of all Mavs finally got Kidd. Yeah! Let's cheer for the West dominating the East.

- Second of all Bulls are exploring their trade options with only 4 days left for any move. The most possible trade seems to be Ben Gordon who is coming back from his injury.

- Clippers are trying to get Mike Miller. Another outstanding idea for the Grizzlies' GM. First Gasol now Miller. Maybe he will also get rid of Rudy Gay? Why not. But the rumor say that it's possible for Sam Cassell and Aaron Williams to replace Mike Miller in Memphis.

- Cavs are trying to get at least on person. They have had talk about Mike Miller joining them. They're also aiming at Portland's Jarrett Jack and other point guard Kyle Lowry. But the main man on their transfer list after Bibby signing Hawks remains Andre Miller from Philadelphia.

2/18/2008

Gossip, scandal and yack

- Carmelo Anthony was publicly calling at the All-Star Weekend for his team to trade Ron Artest. Why would he need Ron-Ron? They both play as small forwards! He should drop a couple and increase his defensive skills instead...

- David Stern revealed the offer that Sonic's owner gave to the city of Seattle. The plan is to move Sonics from Seattle to Oklahoma City. The city of Seattle rejected the $26,5 million offer to buy out KeyArena lease. The transfer of the franchise will happen anyways. If not this year then in 2010. Oklahoma City Sonics...Sounds cool.

- Jason Kidd might be traded to Dallas tonight. The last thing needs to be confirmed is Keith Van Horn's contract so let's hope for the best and bring that lazy boy back to the court.

Without a shadow of a doubt...

It was the best All Star Weekend since the end of Michael Jordan's career.

Why?

Ok, let me get this straight.

FRIDAY.
First of all Lamarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy in the Rookie vs. Sophomore game. They simply shined. It's good to know that the future of NBA is in good hands. They will develop, they will shine and they will become stars.
It would be unfair not to mention Bobby Gibson in here anyways. His 11 3's were stunning. 11 out of 20. Not bad in 3 point shootout and more thrilling in the live game. Let's hope he's gonna have that touch in Playoffs to help LBJ get the title.

SATURDAY.
Oh that was something. Can't stop laughing when I hear that Kidd is too old, Deron Williams is a thug, Kapono had luck, Dwight Howard is a circus clown with a superman cape and is throwing balls instead of dunking.
Ignorants, hypocrites and buffoons.
When did you all see that kinda creativity during the Slam Dunk Contest? Did you even once dream of someone dunk without his shoes on, blowing off a candle or going for a superman dunk? You could see it all during this year's contest. I feel fully satified. Dwight did a great job and what is more important he was having a great time. So did I. But I have to say in here that a lot more was expected from both Rudy Gay and Jamario Moon but they really seemed to be too confident of getting easily to the second round and that's why they lost.
The 3 point shootout didn't bring any surprises. At least for me. I expected Steve Nash to be the worst and so I expected Jason Kapono to be the best. The only thing I didn't expect was that record he catched of 25 points.
Paystation Skills. Well...
What can I say? Deron did it. And that was a surprise. I was hoping for CP3 to take that though. Anyways, Williams estimated a new record. Still not contented?
How about those team shots? Detroit didn't even make it to the second round. And San Antonio? Bring "Admiral" back to the NBA. What about Tim Duncan? He made such a progress in those distant shots that I'm speachless.

SUNDAY.
Oh yeah. Here we go.
LBJ DISERVED IT!
He was just having fun. How good is he to almost get a tripple double doing nothing but having fun?
The answer is simple. He is the King. King James is not only a star but he's also an icon of todays basketball. He's like a symbol. You think basketball, you see James. I've got a new nickname for LBJ. The successor. Oh wait. That already happened.
But LBJ isn't the only reason I'm so happy. What about Chris Paul and Brandon Roy? They both put on amazing performances. They are not only future they're also present of basketball. They became basketball's bedrock and it was great to see them play.
Ray Allen. Yes, that old fox. Played 19 minutes but it was just enough for him to score 28 points. And that quick release 3 point shot. Just amazing. He's like a wine. The older the better.
Can't forget about Dwight Howard. One misses Shaq in the East. I'm asking why. We have Dwight. We don't need O'Neal in the Eastern Conference.
The others like Amare, Bosh, Kidd played decent. As usual.
But some like Nash or AI underperformed in my opinion. Iverson was omnipresent and was trying too hard. He also reminded everyone he's an awful alley oop passer.
Against all odds I feel like this years ASG made a huge progress. Firstly in those guys mentality and secondly in the general picture of basketball.

We also shouldn't forget about the NBDL. Those guys are just as great as many of those who play in the NBA. It's worth watching how these guys are progressing. Some of them used to play in the "bigger" league and some of them are hoping to get into NBA someday. And some should. Like for example Morris Almond who scored over 50 a few weeks ago and is performing very solid in every game.

So regardless of hearing the "it sucked hard" voices I won't change my opinion.

2/17/2008

SuperDwight

He flew over all the other participants.

Gerald Green was a bit creative too and might have won if he changed the dunk in the final round but instead he just made the same one twice.

And Rudy Gay and Jamario Moon felt like they were just sure they'd get into the final round and saved the best dunks.

Too bad.

2/16/2008

And Mike Bibby goes to...

Atlanta Lads and Gents.

Yeap. Just can't wait to see Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams and Al Horford play combined forces with one of my favourite point guards Mike Bibby.

Watch them win almost everything from now on.
You saw it first here.

Oh and by the way. Kings get Tyronn Lue, Anthony Johnson, Shelden Williams, Lorenzen Wright and a second round Draft pick. But it wasn't worth mentioning earlier.

Latrell Sprewell is facing a possible foreclosing

Former NBA All-Star Latrell Sprewell faces the foreclosing issue. It's not the first time for him though.

Last year he lost his 1,5 million yacht to the puplic auction for not paying mortgage.

Same thing might happen this year as he didn't pay his mortgage since september 2007 and is in danger of losing his half-million dollar home in River Hills, Wisconsin.

"It's all 'bout the money
It's all 'bout the dum dum.......
And I don't think It's funny
to see us fade away
It's all 'bout the money
It's all 'bout the dum dum...
and I think we got it all wrong anyway"

The IRS wants to show people that no one is immune to foreclosure.

Arrrgh Cap'n Sprewell!

WNBA Live 2008

Still dunno how to use a move script to post some youtube movies so I'm gonna paste some interesting links in here from time to time.

Here's a new tease of a brand new WNBA LIve 2008 Game.

One word guys.
Thrilling.

Not.

Nuggets want Zach Randolph

Do they?

The thing is Knicks need to get rid off Randolph and Curry for multiple reasons.

Here's where the Nuggets show up screaming and begging for Randolph. They need to reinforce their lineup before the playoffs.

Nuggets general manager Mark Warkentien was the former Blazers director of scouting when Portland took Randolph in the NBA Draft so no surprise here. Some sources say that Nuggets are likely to trade off Linas Kleiza, Eduardo Najera, Steven Hunter and J.R. Smith for Zach Randolph and another Knick (Knicks would probably love to get rid off Curry).

Randolph doesn't seem to be too attached to the Knicks anyway. He says:
"I'm just here to play basketball. I don't care where I go. If I'm in New York, I'll give my best."

Ewing and Olajuwon nominated to the Hall of Fame

Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwon got their nominations to join the estimable Hall of Fame.

They first met in the 1984' NCAA Championship game. Ewing’s Georgetown Hoyas defeated Olajuwon’s Houston Cougars back then.

Ten years later they met again. This time in the NBA Finals, where Olajuwon's Rockets defeated Ewing's Knicks.

Yet they're both nominated along Chris Mulin and coaches such as Pat Riley and Don Nelson to join the Hall of Fame.

The results will be announced on April 7 at a news conference in San Antonio, TX and then the finalists called The Class of 2008 will be enshrined during festivities in Springfield, MA September 4-6, 2008.

What a pity!

Devean George vetoed the Dallas-New Jersey trade. He simply did.

Why?
Becasue he didn't want to lose his early Bird rights to increase his contract.

Yeah, because being selfish i so "kewl".

Anyways...
Not only he blocked the deal but he also came in to the court in the last nights game against Portland and missed all 11 shots he made plus both three throws.

That's kind of a nice way to payoff your team, isn't it Devean?

He says:
"Man, it was tough for me. All the finger-pointing is at me. I'm the bad guy. I'll take that."

Too bad. He should've been punched. And then benched.

Mark Cuban has got very little time now to set a new trade terms. Let's see what will happen.

I feel sorry for Jason Kidd if the deal won't work out. Really. He deserves his first title like noone else in the league now and with NJN it's impossible to get one.

2/13/2008

And Jason Kidd goes to...

Dallas Mavericks.

Shocked? I am.
Not that I didn't suspect JK to change the club by I was hoping for him to join Cavs and help LBJ get the title.

Anyways. That's not a rumor. It's truth. The only thing needs to be done is to get the final shape of that deal which means settle the amount of players Dallas will give for Jason Kidd and Malik Allen. Some sources say it's gonna be Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, Devean George and DeSagana Diop.

In a separate deal Mavs will get Antoine Wright in exchange for the draft picks. This one is not confirmed though.

No comment needed.

How good LBJ is?

It's not a big sercret and I admit I'm a big LBJ fan.

Here's what Eric Snow LeBron's teammate says about him:

'People think he gets his (impressive) numbers because he has to. But he gets those numbers because he can.'

Let it be our quote of the day.

Jason Kidd vs. Larry Hughes

I simply can't stop laughing my ass off.

I just visites that http://heylarryhughespleasestoptakingsomanybadshots.com web site. I tell you what. If you haven't seen it yet just go for it as soon as possible.

I'll paste as an example of that guy's genious a comparison of Jason Kidd and Larry Hughes.

AGE
Jason Kidd: 34
Larry Hughes: 29
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES
At 34 years old, Kidd is older than Robert Parish when he was 33. And we all know that Robert Parish sucked.

TATTOOS
Jason Kidd: unknown
Larry Hughes: More than 15, including ones with skulls and bad-ass religious passages.
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES

WEIGHT
Jason Kidd: 210
Larry Hughes: 184
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES
This is basketball, not Sumo wrestling! And all of that extra weight means more jet fuel for the team’s charter. Larry is not only skinnier, he’ll save you gas money. Think about the total cost of ownership!

POLICE RECORD
Jason Kidd: Yes. (see mug shot above)
Larry Hughes: unknown
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES

NICKNAME
Jason Kidd: Mr. Triple Double
Larry Hughes: Smooth
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES
WTF is a triple double? I have no clue, but that nickname is way too long. Smooth is easier to pronounce and it will cost less to get it as a tattoo.

STEALS
Jason Kidd: Occasionally
Larry Hughes: 3 years ago in Washington, Larry broke the all time steal record for planet Earth by averaging 12 steals a game. That’s right, 12. You don’t need to look it up - just ask any Cavs fan about Larry Hughes’ defense. And he broke the record while playing one-handed. And halfway through the season, he stopped trying to get steals because it was just too easy. This record will never be broken. Ever.
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES

OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS
Jason Kidd: 1
Larry Hughes: unknown
Advantage: Not Applicable.
Rod, are you the GM of the Team USA or the New Jersey Nets? That’s what I thought. Kidd needs to stop re-living the past and realize that gold medals don’t mean a damn!

POINTS SCORED ON FEBRUARY 11, 2008
Jason Kidd: Zero, zilch, none. That just shows you how far Jason Kidd has fallen. He scored zero points tonight!
Larry Hughes: 40
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES

HEROIC COMEBACKS FROM INJURY THIS SEASON
Jason Kidd: Zero
Larry Hughes: 2+. Larry has overcome a bone bruise, a stubbed toe, and many other maladies. These comebacks build character. And when Larry gets injured in the playoffs, you can bet your ass he will make a heroic comeback after he is healed!
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES

HEIGHT
Jason Kidd: 6-4
Larry Hughes: 6-5
Advantage: LARRY HUGHES
Have you ever heard the expression “you can’t teach height?” Well you can’t! And Jason Kidd will never learn to be 6-5!

FINAL SCORE
Jason Kidd: 0
Larry Hughes: 9
Winner: LARRY HUGHES

Rod, it’s simple. Jason Kidd sucks. Larry Hughes is awesome. Are you going to save the franchise, or are you going to sit back and watch Larry Hughes lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to 10 consecutive championships?

HILARIOUS!

Big Men's Code of Law

Shaq strikes back and it's funny. Actually it made my day. I don't care who right or wrong is it just made my day.

And the best argument of all:
'No big man under shall talk about a big man above'.

Maybe I would even want to add something but instead I'll use another Shaq's quote:
'Nuff said'.

If not, let's take a closer look here!

The new Miami Heat?

Being honest I'm a thief. Yes I steal. Like for example this idea for a thread which I boosted from my favourite blog Hardwood Paroxysm. By the way I hope you guys are OK with it.

Just take a look!

HP says:
'She could outperform half the Heat bench'.

Could she?

Hell yeah.

Pick her next draft.

The show must go on

Lots have been said lately about O'Neal, Marion and Gasol transfers. There's nothing to hide and it surely was one of the most exciting transfer windows in the last few years.
Let's take a closer look at those transfers.
So...

Miami has got now Wade and Marion. They're both all stars with no need to further evolution. Still Marion's future is more than questionable. Sure he is a great player but Miami's GM has no idea how to build this team. The only firm thing about Heat in this and next year is that they will build this team based on Wade. No surprise here. As the matter of fact they need a big man such as Shaq and a playmaker such as Jason Kidd to think about playoffs next year. Let's see what will happen this summer.

On the other hand Phoenix didn't need any power up but they took one anyways. Was it good? Time will show but as we like to speculate we think it might go both ways bad and worse. Why? Because Shaq is old and fat. Yeah I know he promises a lot, lights a fire of hope in Suns fans hearts and so but let's be honest. If he was so valuable would Miami gave up on him having noone to replace him? Nope. But that's not all. He also doesn't fit to the Suns 'run and gun' kind of style which most of basketball fans simply love. Well...one says miracles does happen. Why not? Don't want to spoil the fun but you'll see.

The best move this season was made by Lakers. The Spaniard fits the team more than well and Lakers might shine again like they used to when they had Shaq so no surprise here either.

Many things have been said about Jason Kidd. All the speculations about his transfer are not validaded till now. Sure he wants to change the team, why would he want to lose most of the games knowing it might be his last season? The question is where he will go? And again 'time will show' seems to be accurate in here.

I have an idea. Why don't we all just take a sit, chill and wait to see what life will bring? Remember one thing. Whoever goes wherever, the show must go on. There will always be a replacement more or less powerfull.
